Dear Friends,

The year 2020 went out in a haze of ongoing busy pandemic work, short and long term mission planning, and resource management. As a family, however, nothing compared to the sobering news around Mom’s health. After three years of battling metastatic breast cancer, Mom passed peacefully here with us at home on May 1, 2021, at 450pm, alongside her grandchildren, children and our Dad.

We know that the challenges are ongoing for families right now, exacerbated by the long term impacts of the pandemic, and all of you remain in our prayers as well. Please offer the same for our family.

This year, in February 2023, we embarked for the first time on our first in person mission since the pandemic and since the passing of my mom. We felt her presence and thought of her daily. She was and continues to be part of our work. Moreso, we know that not in spite of, but because of the challenges, that Mom, our family and all families have faced over the past 1+ year, we remain committed to that which we are called to do, which is to love one another. The way we do this best as a family is in service to the poor, and you are part of that family. For this we are grateful.

We are set to travel to serve the community of Tayabas Quezon this October 2023 alongside new friends and old. And we remain grateful to be needed. Please pray for us as we do for you.

Much love to all of you,

Nia and Family
